SmartSpace - A Revolutionary Change in Cargo Storage

SmartSpace Cargo Management System was developed from the ground up, with the support of Masterack’s largest fleet, OEM, and distributor customers. The highly configurable storage system features stackable shelf units, designed for use in the new high-cube cargo vans coming to market within the next 18 months, which include the Ford Transit and Ram ProMaster, as well as smaller fleet vehicles such as the Ford Transit Connect and Nissan NV200.

The new system is engineered with lightweight materials which provide fuel efficiency over traditional steel cargo management systems. SmartSpace is modular, giving users the ability to easily and quickly customize the system for different trades and needs, even after delivery of the vehicle. 

Additionally, the system satisfies Masterack’s installation partners’ desire to reduce installation time for the system. “Our customers asked for a cargo management system that would save them time, so we designed a shelving module that can be installed at 90 or 180 degrees for rear and side door access,” said Jenn Voelker, Marketing Manager. “We focused on the details, down to new drawer latches which secure drawers individually and provide quiet, rattle-free storage.”

A Harbor Highliner With Plenty of Space

Here is a Highliner Body by Harbor Truck Bodies mounted on an Isuzu chassis. 

This Highliner is also outfitted with a sturdy square tubing rack extended over the cab.

The body starts its life as an 11' Service Body with closed top lids and then the upper section is added on with doors that swing up that are particularly useful for certain items. In this case, it is outfitted with some plastic boxes for storage of small items.

This is a new lock cylinder of high quality components manufactured by Bolt Locks, part of Strattec. These locks are also available in padlock form and the video below shows how those operate. The locks shown above operate in the same way. Once the ignition key is inserted and twisted, the lock remembers only that key and then you can use your ignition key for all the locks on the service/utility body. Think how great it will be to only need to use that one key for your truck and all the doors on the service body! No more fumbling for the right keys.

Lift The Heavy Loads With a Harbor Cranemaster and a Venturo Crane

A CraneMaster body begins as a standardized Harbor TradeMaster Service Body. This Harbor 11' CraneMaster body is mounted on a Dodge Ram Heavy Duty 4500/5500 Dually. The crane is a Venturo ET18KX.The right rear compartment includes special reinforcing for the mounting of the 18,000 ft. lbs. crane with 4,500 lb. lifting capacity. 

The crane has electric functions for the winch, elevation, rotation and extension. We typically add a leaf to the spring on the crane side to help keep the body level after the installation of a crane.  Notice the crane rest for cradling the boom. We can also install outriggers for stability, particularly on larger cranes mounted on higher bodies. 

This unit also has an optional 18" bumper extension with tool box compartments.
